- Version 2.89 fixes the following bugs with version 2.75:
- a) Fatal internal error type 2 generated after writing to the first floppy disc.
- This was due to a divide by zero in the estimation routines if the amount of
- data backed up to the first floppy disc amounted to less than 1% of the total
- data.
- b) Fatal internal error type 5 occasionally generated. This was finally traced to
- the assembler version compression routines. These have now been removed.
- c) ClicBack$Temp system variable has been removed. It should not have been
- there in the first place but was to be incorporated in a later version.
- However, I would advise against running two copies of !ClicBack² at the
- same time as the temporary logfile’s that it creates will confuse the program.
- d) I have also added "Quick Delete" routines for floppy discs. This saves a lot
- of time if the discs that you are using for the backup contains lots of old
- programs etc.
- e) The calculation of the difference files has been modified along with the
- estimation of discs required. I have also changed the startup banner.
- f) The popup menus have now been standardised.
- g) Unknown keys are now passed back to the Wimp.
- h) Addition of the pause button to !Restore.
- i) Support for Jason Tibbeck's !Longfiles module added. See the !help file for
- more details.
- j) Under certain circumstances !Retrieve would not be copied to the final
- disc correctly.
- k) I have now added the 'Detect disc' option to both !ClicBack² and !Restore.
- With this option selected the program will automatically continue when
- a disc is inserted. With !ClicBack² this option will need to be used with
- caution because as soon as you insert a disc the program will wipe the disc
- clean, not the best idea in the world if you only wanted to check what was
- on it. In case you do wish to check the contents you will need to pause the
- program and then check the contents.
- When the program is polling for a disc you will notice that the drive light
- will flash once a second. It is perfectly safe to remove or insert a disc
- when this happens. Owners of newer machines might notice that the drive
- light does not flash until the old disc is removed, this is a feature of
- the disc drive as the computer knows that it is the old disc so does not
- bother to check it.
- l) Sorted out the alignment of icons so that the appear correct in the
- system font.
- m) The default level of data compression has been changed to level 3.
